Methodology

Data is from the April 2020 McKinsey report titled "How retailers are preparing for the post-coronavirus recovery. 98 US senior retail executives were surveyed during April 6-8, 2020. The executives worked for retailers in the following industries: apparel (n=39), beauty (n=10), specialty big-box (n=14), specialty small-box (n=20) and department stores/off-price stores (n=16). 50% of the retailers indicated they had more than 401 stores.
