Leading Drivers in Making Technology Purchases According to US Hospital and Health System Leaders, July 2021 (% of respondents)

Note

Respondents were asked, "What are the top three drivers in your decision-making process when it comes to technology purchases of a digital care system provider?"

Methodology

Data is from the September 2021 Amwell, "2021 Survey of Health Plans, Hospitals and Health Systems, and Clinicians" conducted by HIMSS Analytics. 102 US hospital and health system leaders from a broad mix of nonprofit and for-profit organizations in urban, suburban, and rural areas, were surveyed during July 2021. The respondents' organizations ranged in size from less than 250 to more than 2,500 beds, and form less than $250 million to more than $1 billion in annual revenue. The organizations constitute multi-hospital system (35%), standalone/specialty hospital (31%), integrated delivery network (19%), and academic medical center (15%). The respondents' roles in the organizations are C-suite (59%) and EVP/SVP/VP/directors (41%).
