Furniture and home furnishings includes furniture, as well as building and decoration materials; it excludes home improvement and tools. Health, personal care, and beauty includes over-the-counter products such as medicines, vitamins, and supplements, personal care or hygiene products, beauty products, and other household products like toiletries, baby products, and pet products. The "other" product category includes commodities, petroleum and related products, toys and hobby, and other items. eMarketer benchmarks its China total retail sales figures against data from the National Bureau of Statistics China, for which the last full year measured was 2021.
