Additional Note: This metric includes devices such as mobile phones and smartphones as well as other devices such as smartwatches and tablets for which consumers can purchase service subscriptions. Users' mobile devices may access 3G or other earlier types of wireless networks as well so long as they connect to a 4G-LTE network and do not connect to a network that conforms to 5G specifications as defined by the standards organization 3GPP.
Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, sales projections, historical trends, company-specific data, and demographic and socioeconomic factors.
