Note: mobile device users who own a 4G-capable wireless handset and connect to Verizon Wireless's 4G network at least once per month

Additional Note: Handsets may also be able to access 5G networks, but the users do not enter areas where they are able to connect to 5G networks on a monthly basis. Users' mobile devices may access 3G or other earlier types of wireless networks as well, so long as they connect to a 4G LTE network and do not connect to a network that conforms to 5G specifications as defined by the standards organization 3GPP. Mobile  devices may be used to accomplish any phone-based activity, including making voice calls, sending SMS messages, or accessing the internet

Methodology: Estimates are based on the analysis of survey and traffic data from research firms and regulatory agencies, sales projections, historical trends, company-specific data, and demographic and socioeconomic factors.
