eMarketer Breakfast Event – “State of Digital: Trust at the Crossroads”

May 9, 2018 (New York, NY) – From data breaches and privacy fears to brand safety concerns related to programmatic ad buying, marketers have plenty of reasons to worry about how their brands are being viewed. Join eMarketer co-founder Geoff Ramsey and other industry leaders May 16 in New York for eMarketer’s breakfast event, “State of Digital: Trust at the Crossroads.” This intimate event will investigate the challenges created by disintegrating trust, and explore creative solutions to begin resurrecting it.

Geoff Ramsey will kick off the event by using data and insights to paint a vivid picture of how trust is trending in the US, where the fault lines are and how everyone in the marketing ecosystem can do their part to re-establish trust.

“While trust is the cornerstone of any brand, we are all aware of the many factors now conspiring to erode the trust that connects brands with consumers, especially in light of recent headlines,” Ramsey said. “This special morning event will explore the complex, interrelated factors eroding trust in media, social platforms, ecommerce sites and brands across every industry—and what needs to be done to restore trust in a disenchanted consumer economy.”

The event begins at 8 a.m. with a networking breakfast. Here’s a look at the four-part agenda:

  • Geoff Ramsey takes the stage at 9 a.m. for a dynamic, high-energy presentation breaking down the challenges facing the digital industry and the ways marketers can overcome them.
  • eMarketer editor Ezra Palmer will have a fireside chat with David Rubin, head of audience and brand for The New York Times. They’ll discuss how the Times’ marketing efforts underpin the trust of audience and advertisers alike.
  • eMarketer senior analyst Nicole Perrin will conduct a panel discussion with senior executives from top consumer brands, who will offer real-world examples of how they are ensuring brand safety and building trust with their customers.
  • eMarketer senior forecasting analyst Marcus Johnson will chat with Ezra Palmer and principal analyst Debra Aho Williamson about the trust implosion in social media and the implications for marketers.

The event will conclude with a networking session, where more than 150 senior industry leaders from over 100 companies can connect.
